You make me quiver
dissolving the core of me
while holding me steady
upright
two things incongruent
yet simultaneous
I find myself diving
deeper
because of you
I need more
God
to be what I need to be for you
You
You make me undone
Pushing through the veil
to my inner sanctum
making peace with broken
chards of what could have been
the things I tried
the people who trampled me
the ideas that let me soar
You saw it all and
you remain
I looked up one day to see you
in me
To see me and you as we
Observing that thoughts now
filtered through how you would feel
I consider another more than myself
not born out of my womb
but out of devotion
fierce and fiery
planted by God Himself
I came to understand
the beauty of sacrifice
Your smile
at the offering
served to you on a bed of loyalty and adoration
in the moment
I realized
I'd give myself for you
Ephesians birthed in my own spirit
What it means to say
I love you
