You know the Lord uses different things to motivate us. Sometimes He uses the things we least expect. I wrote the other day about this. About how God may not tell you what you want to hear but He will tell you want you need to hear to get you through your situation.
When I desperately wanted to get into medical school and I wasn't sure it was going to happen, He said something to me. Something so far off base that it actually struck me as peculiar. When I think back about what I'd been fasting and praying for earlier that year it all makes sense.
I'd asked Him if it was real?
I'd asked Him if He would bless it?
I asked Him if it was worth the risk?
He'd already confirmed that it was, He would, and it would be. The thing was....I hadn't been praying about that in forever cause I'd gotten all those questions answered. But then He told me something I'd never expected.
He asked "If you leave her, who will love her like you do?"
Now I'd never really considered this. I was considering leaving but I'd never considered how it would affect anyone, much this the person I'd fasted and prayed about. You see God didn't tell me I'd get into med school when He wanted me to stay. He told me my love for her was invaluable. And that...that was enough.
